Frequently Asked Questions

What is Integrative Psychiatry?

Integrative psychiatry combines traditional psychiatric care (such as diagnostic evaluations and medication management) with evidence-based complementary approaches, including nutrition, targeted supplementation, sleep and stress optimization, and mind-body practices. We aim to identify root causes and support long-term resilience.

Do you prescribe medications?

Yes. As a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner, I can diagnose mental health conditions and prescribe medications when clinically appropriate. We prioritize informed, collaborative decision-making and always explore non-medication options when relevant.

Do you offer therapy?

While we do not provide ongoing psychotherapy, our sessions include supportive, therapeutic dialogue. We also work closely with therapists and other care providers to ensure holistic, team-based support.

Do you accept insurance?

We are currently accepting Aetna and Optum, including Oscar and United Behavioral Health. & Soon we will be offering Cigna, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Quest Behavioral Health, and Carelon Behavioral Health in Arizona. We also provide superbills you can submit for potential reimbursement. HSA/FSA payments are accepted, and we offer transparent, upfront pricing. Please contact us to verify your insurance and/or with any questions.

How do I get Started?

New patients can start in one of two ways: Either by filling out a short screening intake form to assess whether telepsychiatry is appropriate for your situation right now. Or, you can book a free 15-minute consultation so we can explore your goals and ensure we are a good fit.

After both,  you will be invited via e-mail to again book an initial psychiatric evaluation.

Do you offer reproductive mental health care?

Yes. We provide care across the reproductive spectrum, including support during pregnancy, postpartum recovery, and hormonal transitions. Our care is gender-inclusive and grounded in the understanding that reproductive experiences affect mental health in complex, powerful ways.

Do you offer gender- affirming care?

Yes. We provide respectful, affirming psychiatric care for trans, nonbinary, and gender-diverse clients. We recognize the mental health impact of gender dysphoria, discrimination, and access barriers, and we work to provide a safe, supportive space.

Do you coordinate care with other providers?

Absolutely. With your consent, we’re happy to collaborate with your therapist, primary care provider, OB/GYN, endocrinologist, or any other support professionals.

Do you provide guidance on supplements and lifestyle?

Yes. Our integrative approach includes personalized recommendations related to nutrition, gut health, supplements, sleep, stress resilience, and more. It is always evidence-informed and tailored to your unique biology and preferences.
